Students Enjoyed A Springfield Cardinals Game For Summer Social

Thursday night dozens of Forest students made their way to downtown Springfield for a break from the books, and the chance to watch their own Springfield Cardinals take on the Frisco RoughRiders.
"This was the first
Springfield Cardinals game I have been to this year. I forgot how
beautiful of a park Hammon's Field is," said Bridget Beachy. "It was great to be able to get
together with everyone outside of academics and enjoy being outside!"
The group started off with some appetizers at the Springfield Brew Co. before heading over to the game.
"The
game was a good time, ended up being a pitcher's duel. Having a belly full of
Brew Co. appetizers made it all the more enjoyable," said Jason Sibson.
In the top of the 5th, the RoughRiders made their first run, but by the bottom of the same inning the Springfield Cards swept in with three runs, which would later win them the game 3-2.
"I had a great time at the game. It's always fun
to get a break from your studies and enjoy the company of your peers from time
to time," said Kate Higgins.
The event was sponsored by Forest's Student Council and the Society for Sports Psychology.
"I am so glad this has
become an annual event. Its a great time to relax with friends before the
semester gets REALLY crazy," said Antoni Hanigan.
"The social eventwas great. The
Cardinals won and it was fun to hang out with students & friends
outside of the school environment," said StuCo President Ben Hunter who provided the pictures below.
