Advanced Child & Adolescent Therapy
Advanced Child and Adolescent Therapy course aim is to help students understand the theoretical components of “learning-based” approaches to child and adolescent psychotherapy (analysis) and how these components are assembled into existing recommendations for evidence-based practice (synthesis). Empirically-supported techniques developed from classical and operant conditioning theories, social-learning theory, cognitive theory, and interpersonal theory are discussed in relation to common presenting problems such as anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior, and developmental disability.
