Dr. Ellen Orr Appointed to St. Louis Faculty
Forest Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of
Ellen Glover-Orr, Ph.D., to the faculty of Forest Institute-St. Louis.
Dr. Glover-Orr has been a licensed psychologist in the State of Missouri for
the past eleven years. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from
the University of Iowa and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of
Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Glover-Orr recently worked as a staff psychologist
at Washington University’s School of Medicine in the Division of Child Psychiatry;
she was part of a research team that conducted assessments of children with
autistic social impairment. Her most recent clinical experience was as
project director and staff psychologist with the Children’s Advocacy Services
of Greater St. Louis. Prior to her work in St. Louis, Dr. Glover-Orr
served as staff clinician at the Wichita Child Guidance Center in Wichita,
Kansas.
She has taught in the Educational Psychology Department at the
University of Missouri-St. Louis, Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and at the
University of Iowa. In addition to her teaching experience, Dr.
Glover-Orr has made numerous presentations and conducted workshops in the area
of child and adolescent abuse. Her most recent research on child sexual
abuse was published in the Journal of Child Sexual Abuse.
Dr. Glover-Orr joined the faculty on August 1, 2011, and
will teach in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program. In
addition to her instructional role, she will serve as an advisor and thesis
supervisor. "Dr. Glover-Orr’s appointment is a strategic enhancement to
our master’s programming in St. Louis” said Dr. Brian Nedwek, Executive
Director of the Forest Institute-St. Louis location. "She brings a wealth
of experience that will help us with community-building and program
development.”
