Friends of Operation Us Receives Grant Funding from CFO
On November 14, 2011 Dr. Jennifer Baker received word from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks that Friends of Operation Us will receive a $5,000 grant.
Funds from the grant are to go toward the upcoming "Hitched (or Not) & Hatching Event."
The one-day, educational event, seeks to reach 150 homes where parents are either expecting a baby or have an infant less than 6 months of age. Special educational programming is provided for unmarried and married couples, and for single parents.
The goal is to provide these participants with training in the healthy marriage and relationship skills necessary to form and sustain a safe and stable relationship for themselves and for their children. Participants who complete the one-day program will receive a fully stocked diaper bag, that contains basic supplies necessary to aid parents in caring for their newborn.
Since the program's inception three years ago, 414 couples and/or individuals expecting a child received skills-based relationship education and basic childcare supplies through the event.
Friends of Operation Us is thrilled that Community Foundation of the Ozarks is willing to partner on this year's event.
