Forest Students Present at Diversity Research Symposium
Dhara Shah and Ben Hunter presented a 50-minute-facilitated discussion (break-out-session) on "How stigma affects multi-cultural population in mental health.” at the Diversity Research Symposium 2011 on October 27th 2011 at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
The theme of the conference was the application of diversity research across many disciplines. Students from 37 different schools presented at the conference.
Shah says what made the conference unique is that second year students were given the ability to present a break-out session.
Slides from Shah and Hunter's presentation were even requested for use as a class resource by a couple of teachers from Indiana.
In summarizing the conference's importance Shah said, "We all know about diversity, but it's about learning how to apply it."
Shah and Hunter say they were were proud to represent Forest Institute.
