Dr. Glenna Weis Featured on KOLR 10 News
It all started last year when Dr. Robert King of the Murney Clinic and Pat Gartland, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club decided to pilot a new counseling program within the organization.
Since then the two have worked with Dr. Glenna Weis and Dr. Peter Jaberg on developing the after-school counseling program.
Now, the program is expanding to be offered to Boys and Girls Club participants in all three of the organizations locations.
"We are providing individual and group behavioral therapy, staff training, and parental meetings," said Dr. Glenna Weis who is overseeing the team of counselors.
She says her goal is to look at the data in terms of goals of treatment.
As far as children using the service, the counseling will be provided on a referral basis.
Several Forest students will work as counselors under the guidance of Weis.
"It's a great opportunity for them to get extra training in therapy and consultation," said Weis.
