DIPI Purchases Diversity Resources for Murney Clinic
Each year funds are allotted to support the enhancement of cultural diversity resources across the curriculum at the Forest Institute.
Some examples are the DIPI speakers brought to campus each semester and books and films purchased for the library.
This past fiscal year, Forest had the funds to aid the growth of the culturally diverse toy inventory that includes toys, books, and costumes at the Robert J. Murney Clinic.
Also purchased with these funds is the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fourth Edition-Spanish (WISC®-IV Spanish). Follow the link to read more about the WISC-IV.
Third year student, Frankie Mena, explained that she went to Dr. Kristina Brown and expressed a need for a more culturally diverse repertoire of toys for the children to work with at the clinic. She explained that upon her suggestion, Dr. Brown made the purchases a reality.
