USP Leavenworth is currently recruiting for two Staff Psychologist positions. Our psychologists make up a great department that works exceptionally well together. USP Leavenworth is a well-established federal institution that is an ideal place for psychologists to strengthen clinical skills in all areas, especially in suicide prevention, crisis intervention, diagnosis, and management of mentally ill inmates. Psychology staff also provides a wide range of services, including; staff education on suicide prevention, sexual abuse, and the Employee Assistance Program; medication management; individual and group counseling; development and implementation of Behavioral Management Plans; on-call support; and participation in the Crisis Support Team and Crisis Negotiation Team. Clinical supervision for licensure is available. 

 

USP Leavenworth is currently an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program.  The NHSC offers loan repayment options for primary care providers who work at approved sites in communities in need.  Additional information regarding the NHSC may be found at nhsc.hrsa.gov.

 

Information about the institution:

USP Leavenworth is one of the oldest and most historic federal prisons in the country. It is a medium security facility which houses approximately 1700 inmates. In addition, our satellite camp houses approximately 450 minimum security inmates.
