Internships

Students pursuing a PsyD at Forest experience success in internship across the U.S each year. Twenty-eight out of twenty-nine students (96%) participating in the internship match process in 2009 achieved full-time placement for the 2009-10 academic year; 54% of students who submitted ranks through the APPIC process in 2009 matched. All placements were fully funded, APPIC-approved sites, 33% of which were also APA-accredited. Internship stipends for these students ranged from $14,000 to 36,000, with a median of $16,500. Placements in 2009 represent the following settings and experiences:

52% Consortium
30% Community Mental Health Center
7% State or County Hospital
7% Military Medical Center
4% Correctional Facility

Of the 314 graduates since 2002, 84% (n=263) have attended APPIC internship sites, 28% (n=87) attended APA sites, and the remaining 14% (n=44) have attended other approved sites. Of these placements, 98% (n=304) were fully funded internships, and 3% (n=10) were non-funded. The annual data detailing these experiences is reported below.
